Project Linus Portland/Vancouver has given more than 60,000 blankets to children in “need of a hug” from our chapter beginning in July 2001.
Each quilt, afghan, or fleece blanket has nurtured a hurting child, in a very positive way. It is an affirmative step toward healing of body and mind. Each hand-made blanket, like a stone tossed into a quiet pond, sends gentle ripples of comfort outward to hurting child, fearful parents, caregivers, grandparents, friends and community.
Project Linus volunteers help in many ways. You, too, can help by sewing and making blankets, donating fabric, helping during First Thursday Processing Day or making a financial gift.
